Chuck Fest kicked off in 2014 as a humble street party, the brainchild of local legends Dave and Nan Evans. From that single stage, it's exploded into downtown Lake Charles' hottest bash for Louisiana music, art, food, and culture, pulling in over 17,000 fans in 2024!
After Southwest Louisiana took a beating in 2020, the Arts & Humanities Council swooped in to revive the party, bringing Chuck Fest back bigger and bolder by 2022. And speaking of comebacks, it's worth noting that Dave is back in the Chuck Fest family as of 2025 – he just couldn't stay away from the party he helped start!
Today, Chuck Fest is more than just a festival; it's a hometown powerhouse. It fuels the downtown economy and puts local artists and makers front and center.
Supporting Chuck Fest means directly supporting the arts and humanities landscape in Southwest Louisiana, helping to sustain the vibrant creative community that defines our region. Crucially, the revenue generated by Chuck Fest directly supports the Arts & Humanities Council's mission, sustaining our creative economy and fostering artistic growth 365 days a year.
This homegrown cultural movement strengthens our creative economy and celebrates the vibrant spirit of Southwest Louisiana.
